Amp viola cultivation

Viola flowers

To grow ampelous pansies, not much is required, but it is worth paying attention to some parameters that will contribute to a successful result:

  • for planting, you should choose loamy loose soil with a neutral level of acidity;
  • regular watering should be carried out, but water stagnation in the pan should not be allowed;
  • To grow a beautiful plant at home, you should choose the eastern or western sides of the window;
  • pansies do not like any fertilizers, so this item in the care of them can be safely omitted.

Important! Closed balconies or loggias are absolutely not suitable for these colors. A prerequisite for them is open space and fresh air.

Seed cultivation

Growing from seed is the only way to prepare this flower for development in the Russian climate. Seeds for seedlings are planted in late February - early March. Special boxes will become the basis for seedlings, plastic cups or jars of yogurt will also be suitable.

Note! Before sowing seeds, it is necessary to introduce mineral fertilizers into the soil and carefully loosen it.

How to plant seeds:

  1. Moisten the soil. Make 5 mm recesses in it every 2 cm. Put seeds there.
  2. Sprinkle with a layer of soil, cover with a film or glass. Put in a warm place.
  3. Daily morning and evening for 10 minutes. raise the film for airing the soil.
  4. When the first two leaves appear, carry out the first feeding with mineral fertilizers. Subsequently, perform such a procedure once a month.
  5. A month after the emergence of seedlings, young plants should be dived into separate small containers.
  6. To shoots appeared earlier, you can use special fluorescent lamps. The optimal length of daylight is 14 hours.

Important! To ensure abundant flowering in the summer, proper care of seedlings is necessary, starting from the first days of its appearance.

Watering mode

Ampoule viola does not tolerate complete drying of the soil, it needs regular watering. Watering it is necessary as the topsoil dries. The soil in the pot should always be moist, but without excess. Do not turn the plant pot with a plant into an analogue of a swamp, with excess moisture, the roots of the plant will begin to decay, and it may die.

Top dressing

Intensive dressing of the plant with mineral fertilizers should be carried out during the period of growth and development. During the flowering period, it is enough to properly water and make sure that the plant is not exposed to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. But there is another version that the plant needs weekly nutrition. It all depends on the individual characteristics of the selected variety, as well as on the growing region and climatic conditions.

In any case, if there is something missing from the flowers, it will immediately be visible from them: the leaves will become more sluggish, and the buds will be small. This is worth focusing on.

Important! Most experts agree that feeding a plant during flowering is not more than 1 time per month.

Planting in a cache-pot

Growing a viola at home involves planting it in flower pots, a cache-pot, wicker baskets, balcony boxes. Whichever container is planted, it should be equipped with drainage holes to help avoid moisture stagnation.

Initially, a layer of drainage material is poured at the bottom of the container in which the pansies will grow. This is very important because the roots of the plant can rot. The minimum thickness of the drainage coating is 3 cm. Suitable soil is poured on top. Viola seedlings must be separated from each other by at least 10-15 cm, with 1-2 l of soil to be allocated to each individual bush.

Adult Plant Care

Adult pansies do not need excessive care. The main components should be watering and lighting. It is also important to ensure that the plant does not get sick. The most common diseases are:

  • powdery mildew;
  • spotting;
  • gray rot.

If signs of any of these diseases are found, it should be removed immediately so that the rest are not infected. For prevention, you can periodically spray with a mixture of soda ash with laundry soap or sprinkle with wood ash.

Important! To give the flowers the desired shape and greater splendor, the stems can be pinched. This must be done before the first flowers have appeared.

Illumination

This item is as important for plants as watering. Viola ampelous - photophilous plant, which, however, does not tolerate prolonged exposure to the bright rays of the sun. She needs a light partial shade. A good option would be one in which pansies are grown under a small canopy or visor.

For your information! In case of lack of lighting, the flowers will be small and not bright in comparison with those that are planted in well-lit areas.

Watering and fertilizing

Watering and dressing the plant must be done carefully, without pouring a large amount of liquid into one place. It is worth starting from the edge of the vessel in which the plant grows and gradually move to the middle. For fertilizing, only mineral fertilizers are suitable, organic categorically are contraindicated. It is best to use ready-made mixtures for flowering plants, sold in horticultural and flower shops. It is better to perform these procedures in the evening, when there is no risk that the sun can burn out the ground or leaves that will be accidentally fed.

Ampoule viola - one of the most beautiful plants that can be grown both in the summer cottage and on the balcony. It is suitable for any grower thanks to many varieties. Someone will like bright, large flowers, and someone closer is a delicate, almost pearl-colored color. Everyone will find their own variety, close to him.
