Calatea Sanderian and other species of this plant belong to the Marantov family. It is a grassy perennial. Grows in Central and Latin America.

Calathea has a long, creeping root, growing horizontally. A bush is formed from the length of the petiole green, reaching a height of 1.5 m, a width of 0.6 m. Each year, 5-6 new leaves appear on it.
