Recently, eggplant is becoming increasingly popular among gardeners. They are canned, baked, twisted into rolls, added to stews and salads - there are no ways to use them. But in order to enjoy the taste of the actually grown purple handsome, you need to correctly approach the process of growing seedlings.

Traditional way

The most proven and familiar way to many gardeners is the method of planting any seedlings. For him:

  1. A container with low sides is taken, soil is poured into it, leveled.
  2. Any improvised means make grooves with a depth of not more than 1 cm.
  3. At a distance of 1 cm from each other, seeds are laid out. Reducing the distance is not recommended so that the sprouts do not interfere with each other.
  4. Landings are neatly sprinkled with earth and watered. For watering, you should not use a watering can, as its elastic stream erodes the soil and exposes the planting. A spray gun with a spray nozzle is best suited.
  5. After that, the container with seeds is covered with polyethylene, plastic or glass, creating a greenhouse effect.
  6. After the appearance of the first sprouts, the plantings are opened, accustoming to open air.

Landing in a snail

An interesting landing method that saves space and time. To implement it you need:

  1. Take any dense material that is not amenable to breaking in water. A substrate for a laminate, a thin insulation is well suited.
  2. Cut a strip of unlimited length (the thickness of the cochle depends on it) 12 cm wide. Put a two-centimeter layer of soil on top of it, gently applying it.
  3. Then twist it and fasten it with an elastic band. Take the earth a little inward, freeing the sides of the snail.
  4. Spill everything with Epin solution.
  5. Plant seeds in 1 cm recesses, lightly sprinkling them with soil.
  6. Landing can be made not only in the recesses, but also laid them on top of the earth at the right distance and pressed in with a thin object, for example, a toothpick. Distances between landings must be at least 3 cm.
  7. Cover the snail with a dense plastic bag and place in a warm place. Take off the package with the advent of the first sprouts.

Boiling water planting

  1. For this method, a plastic container with a lid or any other container with shallow sides is ideal.
  2. 4 cm thick soil is poured into it, seeds are laid on top of it. It can be planted both in grooves and in recesses.
  3. After this, boiling water is taken, which ceased to boil a few minutes ago, and the planting is watered with a thin stream in order to avoid erosion of the earth.
  4. Seeds are not covered with soil, the greenhouse is covered with a lid and cleaned in a warm place for 3-4 days until the first sprouts appear.

Peat planting

Eggplants do not like numerous transplants and picks, so planting tablets will be most effective for them. This method is suitable for preparing a small amount of seedlings.

  1. Buy peat tablets in a pan, fill them with water and let them swell.
  2. As a disease prevention, Phytosporin diluted according to the instructions can be added to the water.
  3. After the tablets are wet, you need to slightly push the seed inside and cover with a small amount of tablet soil.
  4. Cover and put in a warm place.

Such watering does not require additional watering.
