How often you can see the well-groomed beautiful garden plots where not one corner is deprived of the attention of the owners. Except the greenhouse. Quite often the gardens are “decorated” with faceless and similar purchased designs. We offer you to awaken your imagination and create a greenhouse worthy of your beautiful garden, your little handmade piece of the tropics, where heat-loving cultures will rampantly grow! What to do

The choice of materials is not very large, so there will be no problems. For the frame, metal, wood or plastic is usually used. Any option has its advantages. The metal is strong, durable, allows you to create custom shapes. Plastic does not respond to the vagaries of the weather, lightweight and flexible. Wood is used less and less, and in vain - a wooden frame gives decorativeness and sophistication.

Glazing is even easier - either polycarbonate or glass. Polycarbonate is lightweight, durable and offers a lot of room for decoration. Glass looks nobler and perfectly transmits light, but fragile and heavy. The choice is yours.

Construction and glazing

Having conceived the construction of the greenhouse, first create a project on paper.

It is necessary to consider several important points:

  1. The maximum area must be permeable to sunlight. On this basis, think over the frame so that decorativeness is combined with functionality.
  2. Try to fit the future greenhouse into the overall style of your garden. Ideally, if the forms of glazing overlap with other garden structures, then the greenhouse will look harmonious and there will be no dissonance.
  3. Do not forget about the opening wings. They should be located in the upper part, at the end opposite the entrance and in the side walls.

Greenhouse shape

We will tell you a few directions in which your creative thought can move.

If the garden resembles a traditional manor, emphasize this style with a greenhouse. For the sample, take the Gothic or Victorian greenhouses. Their harmony and elongated lines will perfectly shade the arborvitae and junipers planted next to them; the glazed windows will look good in glazing.

A greenhouse looks good, based on an octagonal frame. Such a structure can be supplemented with elements of artistic forging and create a decorative turret on the roof. You will get an enlarged copy of the patterned casket, which may well show off at the most noticeable place in your garden.

If the style of your site is more modern and concise - consider creating a greenhouse with clear geometric shapes. It does not have to be a classic box. How do you like, for example, a pentagonal greenhouse? Or two small greenhouses with a pitched roof connected by a covered passage?

Accommodation

The greenhouse must be placed in the most lighted place. Nearby there should not be high fences, trees, buildings, magnificent bushes. The best place is the garden area. For example, at the entrance to the garden, you can build two symmetrical small greenhouses that will look like decorative pavilions. It is very good if it is possible to build a greenhouse near the house or recreation area - it will be convenient to collect fresh vegetables to the table.

Another spectacular, but more complex option is to attach a greenhouse directly to the house. It will turn out not only a place for growing fruits and vegetables, but also a wonderful winter garden. And if you put a couple of chairs and a small table there, you will get an unusual relaxation area. Just imagine how cozy it will be to drink tea there in winter, admiring the snowfall on the street! But for such a result, you need to work hard - in the winter garden you need sewage, water supply, heating and lighting.

Foundation

If you have once and forever decided on a place for the greenhouse and are sure that you will not change your mind, create a durable structure and put it on a foundation that can be decorated with natural stone, porcelain stoneware, pebbles and the like.

Decor

If you already have a greenhouse or you have chosen a ready-made option, there are also opportunities to dream up. For decor, you can use bamboo, forged elements, pebbles, thin ropes and so on. Containers with flowers look good around the perimeter from the outside, put flowerpots with small decorative trees or shrubs on both sides of the entrance.

Painting

Try to refresh the existing greenhouse by painting the frame. Take a look around - what color prevails in the decor of your site, it is better to use this for a greenhouse. A similar technique will collect all the buildings in the garden into a single composition. Another non-standard trick is to paint the greenhouse in a radical black color. This solution looks very stylish and emphasized graphically.

Lighting

Be sure to bring lighting into the greenhouse. Pros are undeniable:

  • It's comfortable. Even in the dark, you can stop by for fresh vegetables or herbs.
  • It is incredibly beautiful. Your greenhouse will sparkle with new colors and will resemble a sparkling palace in the dark.

Mini greenhouse

If your site does not have room for a large structure or if there is simply no need for it, you can create one or more small greenhouses. It is convenient to make them mobile, this will make it possible to move the greenhouses to another place and put them away for storage in winter.

As you can see, the choice is huge and growing thermophilic crops can decorate your garden, giving it the sultry charm of the tropics.
