Energy - tomatoes with large fruits, not tops!

Energy is not as popular as the varieties and hybrids of large Moscow firms Gavrish and Aelita. Tomato was created by a Kirov company with the modest name Agrosemtoms. Meanwhile, Energy is not inferior in yield to Dutch hybrids, and taste - to Russian varieties.

Description of Tomato Energy

The Hybrid Energy is officially registered as a selection achievement, and has been in the State Register of Plants since 1996. Tomato is allowed for cultivation in all light zones of Russia, it is considered one of the best in terms of adaptation to different climatic conditions. It tolerates temperature extremes, resistant to tobacco mosaic, cladosporiosis and fusarium.

Energy got its name for the intensive growth of the stem and fruits. His bush is semi-determinant: in greenhouses it grows to 1.5-2 m, in the open ground it peaks, reaching 1 m. The ripening period of tomato is 110-115 days. Fruits are rounded, slightly flattened from the poles, red in full ripeness. The weight of one tomato is 120-140 g.

Energy fruits are bright red, flat round, medium sized

The pulp and skin are dense, inside 4-5 seed chambers. The taste of tomatoes is excellent both in fresh form and in conservation. Gardeners grow it mainly for pickling.

Unfortunately, there are no yield indicators either in the description from the State Register or on the manufacturer’s website. But on bags with seeds from the author - "Agrosemtoms" there are such numbers: 25-27 kg / m², and with good care - up to 32 kg / m².

The author of tomato Energy claims a fairly high yield

About the benefits of Energy, comparison with other tomatoes

A feature of Energy in its intermediate position between determinant and indeterminate tomatoes.

Hence the high yield of Energy, especially in greenhouses. The bush grows tall, like an indeterminate tomato, and literally the whole is hung with fruit brushes, like a determinant. The area of the beds is used efficiently.

Energy is meaningless to compare with indeterminate or determinant varieties and mushrooms. It is more productive than the Dutch Solerosso, German Maroussi and even the Chelyabinsk Maryina grove. These tomatoes are suitable for salting and salads, zoned for all regions of the Russian Federation, resistant to disease, like Energy. Only the same semi-determinant tomatoes can match this hybrid.

Growing Features

You should not hurry with sowing a semi-determinant tomato; sow the seeds in the second half of March and even in its third decade. By the time of planting, there should be no flower brushes on the seedlings, otherwise the bush will finish early, it will be low-yielding. Nothing is said about the resistance of Energy to late blight, so warm the land for sowing in any way to 100 ° C, and wash the seeds in a solution of potassium permanganate.

Favorable temperature for germination - 22-25 ° C. Shoots in phase 1-2 of these leaves, peek in separate pots. A week after the transplant, start feeding seedlings every 7-10 days with sodium humate (0.5 g of powder per 1 liter of water).

Plant tomatoes at a permanent place when steady heat arrives: in open ground - in early June, in a greenhouse - in mid-May. If the Energy is kept at temperatures below +15 ° C for a long time, its determinism will be manifested, the bush will be completed, it will be low and low-yielding.

The layout for this hybrid is 60x60 cm or 40x70 cm. Before planting, pour the potassium humate solution (25 ml 3% per 10 liters of water), drop a pinch (3 g) of superphosphate to the bottom of the wells. If the seedlings still have flower brushes, remove them.

The formation of a blooming brush on the planted seedlings should not be allowed. The plant usually “skips” it, if the fruits are tied, they are small or underdeveloped. If the seedlings have grown and the flowers have blossomed, it is better to remove the brush.

A week after planting, in order to prevent late blight, spray the bushes with a solution of fungicide (Skor, Horus, HOMA). In the flowering phase, for better fruit formation in the morning, shake the bushes sharply, you can treat the preparation with Ovary or Bud.

Tomato Energy is prone to fruit formation to the detriment of sprout and root growth. That is, there are many fruits, and the roots are weak, superficial, the volume of the coma of the earth from which they can take food is small. Therefore, Energy should be intensely watered and fed. Only with such care will you achieve a stunning yield, which the author of the hybrid promised - 32 kg / m².

Hybrid Energy seeks to grow more fruits than shoots and leaves

Water the bushes every 2-3 days and plentifully. Feed complex fertilizers every 7-10 days. Use ready-made mixtures for tomatoes (Fertica, Red Giant, Biohumus, etc.) or do yourself balanced feeding by dissolving in 10 l of water: 20 g of ammonium nitrate, 30 g of potassium sulfate, 10 g of magnesium sulfate and 25 ml of potassium humate.

It is impossible to form Energy in 1 stalk, because due to bad weather or improper care, it can be completed at any time. Always leave one spare stepson or form in 2-3 stems. The first 2 brushes in semi-determinant varieties and hybrids when grown in a greenhouse are recommended to be normalized, leaving 3-4 of the largest ovaries in them. On each stalk, the Energy manages to lay 3 brushes, in total on the bush - 6-9 or more, depending on the growing region and weather.

You can take care of Energy using a simple technology: plant in open ground, do not feed or even water if it rains at least once a week. A hybrid without enhanced care will grow a low determinant bush. In this case, step in to the first flower brush, and leave as many brushes above as you have time to ripen in your region - 2-5 pcs. Remove all the rest along with the stepsons on which they are formed. The bush, even if it has grown low, be sure to tie.

I planted F1 Energo, I like these tomatoes. Plant height 1-1.5m, medium-sized fruits.

Energy can be grown in open ground with minimal maintenance, but then the harvest will be normal. To get the claimed number of fruits per square meter, plant a hybrid in a greenhouse, feed it intensely and water it.
